We Made it to 5!

I often have a difficult time coaxing the kids out of bed in the morning. I expected today to be easy, since I could wake Wilson up with the news of his highly anticipated birthday. He was sound asleep on his back when I entered the room. Before I could reach him, he sat straight up and said with disbelief, "Am I five?"

He would not take my word for it...he insisted on seeing himself in a "big" mirror, one that showed his "whole body." After checking himself from head to toe he got a big grin on his face. The maturity that comes with being 5 had finally sunk in.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We spent lots of time on the couch last night making hearts with our's funny how pudgy these hands seem when you look at them up close.

I love them.

Just Arrived!

I got lots of these little lovelies in the mail yesterday...

There are lots more, these are the only ones that would fit on the platter for their photo shoot.

Right now, the only plan is to get them into some soil (porous, no fertilizer...cactus soil is good), but I have some high expectations for them in the upcoming months.

Until recently I was only familiar with the hens-and-chicks variety of succulents, but I've seen lots of arrangements lately that are just breathtaking.

And once I realized there were so many different variations, I decided I just *had* to have some. Then one day this shop popped up on my etsy home page...Succulents Galore. It was a listing for 24 succulents. It was fate, so I bought them up!

My original purpose for these plants is a living wreath. If you buy some now too, maybe we can all make one together!

I'm constantly amazed at the things I find on etsy and how much I love them! And how much people love providing them for their customers.

It's a great way to support artists. And the perfect place to window shop in your pajamas!

Sewing Class

If you follow my facebook page, you might be tired of seeing these photos, but one last announcement about the upcoming little boy's necktie class that I will be teaching at Karen Gray Design, here in Winston.

These little ties are a great project for a beginner, but also fun enough to make that someone with lots of experience wouldn't get bored.

With Valentine's day coming up, a little red and white tie would be perfect. And it's never too early to get started on Easter outfits!

The ties I'm making now have a casing around the elastic, so you will learn that too.
The classes are on Feb 3rd (tomorrow!) and February 17th from 6-8pm. There are a few spots left in each class!

If there are any other things you would like to learn how to make, let me know and if there is enough interest, maybe we can add more classes to the schedule!
